Felts Writing Activity-Complex Sentences

In felts we are making complex sentences using simple, and compound sentences. The red underlined words are the complex sentences and the green words are the joining words.

On Tuesday our family are going out for dinner to celebrate me being on the wall of fame in the office. I almost screamed when I got it so I just smiled , But I started to scream when I got home. I made sure my mum let me choose what we're having for tea. I chose McDonalds.

Week 10 Reflection

What: We had the very cool boys night out this week! We had Dominos for dinner! That was the thing that really made me happy! Something really sad happened this morning! Me and Eyra had a fight over our job, fruit! We are back as friends now! It was fun this week. I was a  mediator yesterday.

So What: We learnt who can do the most hops on one foot in maths, because my maths question is: How many jumps can boys in room  15 do on one foot? We were finishing the cockroach posters.

Now What: The most important thing now on my to do list is to finish my work ALL THE TIME!!! I want to be on the wall of fame in our class all the time! I want to make the CO2 cars next term!

Our Ukuleles

We made some ukuleles for art about three weeks ago, it was  fun! First we drew different views of ukuleles so we could pastel it. We then made a copy of the five we want on the musical notes page, Zane took forever!!!! We then came to the FUN PART!!! We  pasteled all of them with the blending technique. We then glued them to the piece of white paper that we had drawn music notes on.

week 9 reflection Term 2

What: This week we made some flowers for art and we showed Rm 1 how to make posts on their blog, so they can make comments on their blog. We all finished our water towers finally! We really still want to make something for bp technology challenge.

So What: We learnt how to observationally draw flowers & CHEER FOR CARLTON AT RIPPA RUGBY! We learnt in writing about complex sentences. We did not learn anything in maths this week because we did not do maths this week! We are learning about listening in shared reading this week too.

Now what: We all have come down a level on our succes-o-meter this week because the effort put into work is astoundingly disappointing. I WANT TO BE A KING SO I HAVE TO PUT AN EFFORT INTO MY WORK!!!

Week 4 Reflection

What: This week we had some highs & lows in work finishing because to many people like Kahu hadn't finished their work and still had not finished their pastel, collage and book covers. We did not have a BP Technology Challenge. We had a IKAN test this week too.


So What: We learnt how to add a link list to our blogs & the Year 6's learnt how to send Email's to other people. We also learnt how to say 'how are you' in Maori. We learnt about writing different phone numbers in/on a piece of paper/book.

Now What: Come on Darian, Finish your work!!! I want to have a BP Technology challenge when we have to construct a go-cart out of cardboard, and Tape.

Week 3 Reflection

What:On Monday we continued keeping our selvessafe and we had a competition about who could keep our own egg alive throughout the week. We did a bit better on the BP Technology Challenge this week, but still it was not good. We had some people staying in for work finishing which was not good! We had a competition against other schools & classes for keeping ourselves safe. We got 30 points but Room 6 got 31 points.

So What: We learned about how many cars go past our school in maths and put it in a tally chart & bar graph to show on our wall. We learned what to do in an emergency with Constable Tanya.

Now What: Next week I REALLY want to make cars out of boxes for our BP Technology Challenge. I also want to go to parenting school to look after children and use one of our habits: Strive for accuracy because I never finish my work.

What: This week we have started doing P.E. We do it every morning now. We had a disastrous BP Technology Challenge. We started a program called keeping ourselves safe with Constable Tanya. We started blending colours on black pieces of paper.

So What: I have learnt about different graphs and tallies. I have also learnt about how to blend colours on pieces of paper. We learnt about keeping ourselves safe.

Now what: I want to take responsible risks, and do some work on making books (because I’m making a book already).

Week 11 Reflection

What: This week some people made Jib Jabs. We finished our faces and printed our Befunky's. We went to Rayz Roadshow. It was funny. We had some maths tests and we had a bp technology challenge. We had to make a basket that was Easter themed and could hold a tennis ball.


So What: We learned to help people out with cleaning places up. We learned more in maths with our tough maths test. We learned to create things with little equipment.


Now What: I want to make some stuffed bunnys next year. I want to strive for accuracy & percision.

Week 10 Reflection

What: We had buddy art this week, some people did not get to have a buddy with them because there was not enough so we just continued with our face drawings. We also made our blog counter yesterday afternoon. We made a poem describing a colour or feeling. We made a scribble drawing for the background of our poem, it had to have colours that describe our colour. I had aqua blue for my colour poem.

So What: We learned other strategies in maths this week. We learned a new welcoming haka with Matua Ashley, It was fun. We learnt about book covers and what they had on them.

Now What: I am currently in lions for the success-o-meter. I would like to have a Bp technology challenge.

My Weekend

Well it all started on Friday afternoon. I walked home then I emptyed my rather huge bag, then I played on my playstation 2. I played Need for speed: Most wanted. I have got $100,0000 and have got 38 cars, my favourite is the Ford GT. It is super fast. Then I asked my mum if I could bike down to the play ground with my brother walking with my basketball and we played one-on-one. Then we went back home. The next morning we played on the ps2 all day. I cannot wait till next weekend.

Mrs Larsens back!

On Monday Mrs Larsen came back, I was Amazed, I was so happy to have her back. She was away for at least for 5 days, I gave her a lollie from my mums work 'Just Cuts'.

Week 9 Reflection

What: We only swam once this week because so many people did not finish their work so we just stayed inside doing work. We also changed our class pictures on befunky.com. Here is one of mine. Last friday we went to the Marae and it was fun. We went there bacause we wanted to learn more about the Moari cultures.

So What: We learnt different ways to use our maths strategies.

Now What: I want to really really work on finishing my work, I want to go for a swim in the school pool.

Week 6 Reflection

What: Well we have learnt to put our avatar on our blogs,I thought mine was so amazing. I decided to make mine with an snowboard because I like snowboarding. Mine is just beside this post. We also missed out on the BP technology challenge because many pupils did not finish their work ( I was one of them).

So What: I have learnt Four strategy's in maths and it is easy now. I learnt some Greetings and farewells in Maori: It was fun.

Now what: I want to work on staying on task at all times and what I want to do is to invite Fordell school next week.

My Weekend

On Saturday I played with my Brother and we played a simple game of Basketball. Of course I won 20-17. Then we played in our pool and played water polo so I can practise for splash ball.

Christchurch Earthquake

This is so tragic. I just want to go and help.

Succes-o-meter

This week I am on the cubs section of the success-o-meter. We also have a wall of fame to keep track of our role models. Now we have William, DJ and Tarron on our wall of fame. I am Trying my very best to become a lion.

Week 5 Reflection

What: This week we made an avatar for our blog. It was great. Wait till you see mine. We also did Kapa haka with our new teacher. I get Kingi today to take home with me.

So What: I learnt about different Waiata because we are going to Putiki Marai in a few weeks time, so I want to see how that turns out because last year we didn't get to do it.

Now What: I'm still trying to work as a king so I can be a good boy by showing I can persist, strive for accuracy and precision. I want to do the races still.

Today we made a wordle. This is mine. Mrs Larsen taught us how to make one.

Week 3 Reflection

What: I played splash ball. We lost 3-7. We also started in our Maori/inquiry books. We did some maths, reading, writing and handwriting. Also Isiah's Aunty and Uncle came to talk to us about their tours around the world.

So What: I learnt to use different ways to solve maths problems. I also learnt about different places in the world.

Now What: I want to do the drag races that Room 14 did last year and I'm working to strive for accuracy.

Week 2 Reflection

What: This week we did a B.P Technology Challenge of making a Room 15 flagpole strong enough to stand without any hands. We also started work in our books. We have done heaps of fun stuff, we also do what's on top, it is kind of like show and tell.

So What: I have learnt to work with a group & it was fun doing the B.P technology challenge. I also learnt more mathematics to be the best.

Now What: I now need to work on managing my impulsivity fully so I can become a king.

First Day Blogging

Finally I have my own blog and now I'm blogging with my classmates. I have a Gmail also to do some mailing. Mrs Larsen showed me how to start it up.
